So who made the first Cheesecake? Most say it was the Greeks who made layers of cheese and dairy products as a general source of energy. The “cheese” cakes were also used at weddings, adding honey for sweetness. It is apparent Cheesecakes have been around for thousands of years. We are hard pressed to find a modern day cheesecake that has the thick luscious creamy texture, color, beauty, and mouth watering experience as J.B.Delicious aka JMRosens Cheesecakes. Fernando Casillas (World’s Best Cheesecake Baker) has tried Chicago’s Eli’s Cheesecakes and said that was “pretty good.” This is a high compliment coming from the World’s Best Cheesecake Baker who creates an unforgettable experience with his baking technique, quality, flavors and secret recipes. Again, that was the only compliment I heard about his travels into tasting “the others”. So really, who made the first GREAT cheesecake in modern day?
People drive hours to Northern California to buy from the Fernando Casillas, J.B.Delicious Bakery with comments like this, “The most fabulous cheesecake I've ever tasted. Infinite numbers of stars I want to give. This cheesecake made me write here for the first time.” one of dozens of reviews on internet.
As a lifetime cheesecake lover, world traveler, and daughter of a gourmet cook, once I tried Fernando’s, JB Delicious Dessert Cheesecake Bakery, nothing else compared.NOTHING. I try to take a bite of the others, it was not even close to delicious. Therefore, I just do not eat other cheesecakes, I can’t. It’s not cheesecake to me. It’s some other sugary mouth of graham crackers in sweet goop. But then that’s my opinion. But then that’s not a cheesecake to me. J.B. Delicious/JMRosens is a cheesecake, it’s unforgettable, it’s the only one I will touch.
As a consistent visitor to the J.B. Delicious Bakery, I am amazed at the size, the flawless practices, the detailed and skilled techniques of the bakers while I observe in awe. It is a true craft to make this wonderfully fabulous perfect cheesecake. The bakers and assistants are highly skilled and even more dedicated and serious about what they were doing. Again, I am amazed at the pride and seriousness of these bakery employees. So many stations with a baker making a tray of crusts or fillings, layering, cooling, decorating, all by hand. Last week, I witnessed the 9” New York Cheesecake come straight from the pans...to the counters for preparation of packaging or decorations. These were MONSTERS Cheesecakes, it’s amazing how big they look. They look big because they are big and dense with a velvety smoothness of silk, just amazing. A 9” New York Style cheesecake weighs 6.25 lbs. I know I was there when Fernando weighed them. I was shocked to witness a cake weigh so much. And that’s the light weight cheesecake. The others are that and more, some almost 8lbs.
Recently, I had a dinner guests in my home. Of course I served the New York Cheesecake for dessert. As I witnessed a first timer (from New Jersey) try the New York Plain Cheesecake, she was very precise and intentional with what her deliberate small bites of her J.B. Delicious Cheesecake. She didn’t say much (i was nervous) until the fourth or fifth bite. “This is addicting.” came out of her mouth. I can’t stop eating it. I laughed, we had fun. Theory proved yet again: the best cheesecakes on earth. History? I will tell you the history of the only cheesecake that matters in next post.
No matter where the first cheesecake originated or who doesn’t like shortbread or graham cracker crust...J.B.Delicious Cheesecake will be the first time you tasted a cheesecake of such a high standard and quality and perfectly intentional layers and stacks of textures...It’s a first! Jan Rosen invented it originally, Fernando Casillas kept it alive and improved it and bakes and bakes and bakes for the stores, restaurants and now he will bake for you.
